Just arrived with us here at RFH Classics we have this early pull handle 1964 (B) MGB Roadster finished in Gloss Black with Black Leather trim that is piped with contrasting White piping. These MK 1 MGB Roadsters are getting rare nowadays and this one originally left the factory in Old English White but was the subject of an extensive rebuild in 1989 where the car was painted in the Black seen here today. According to the Heritage Certificate it was built for the North American market but was specified with Wire Wheels, Heater, Overdrive, Black Tonneau cover, Packaway Hood and a miles per hour speedo as standard. We are led to believe the mileage displayed is correct and this is supported by the extensive MOT history available in the history file we have in the office.
The paintwork and chrome on the car are in exceptionally good order and paint has a deep shine to it which really helps compliment the Chrome Wire Wheels on the car with all the wheels having good tyres fitted. In the boot are the correct wheel tools along with a spare wheel. The sills and wing top seams are all in very good order and the panel gaps are good for a vehicle of this age. The car is fitted with the correct 4 speed gearbox that has syncros to 3 gears and a recent drive out in the car confirms that the Overdrive it is functioning correctly and as it should. The engine has good hot and cold oil pressure and fires up immediately with a little bit of choke and has the benefit of an electronic ignition for long term reliability.
The hood it would appear has been replaced in the not too distant past and it the correct packaway style vinyl which has no milky rear windows or rips and there is the full tonneau available in the boot with the support bar. Finally the Black Leather seats are correct and in period for the car and show very little signs of wear either on the main panels or piping and the carpets are in exceptionally good condition.
Under current guidelines this car is exempt from needing an MOT however the former owners have maintained a good record of having the car regularly MOT inspected with the current one being valid until November 22 with no issues or advisories.
