RFH Classics have this in stock this stunning example of a 1981 MGB LE Special Edition Roadster in the unique to its model, Bronze Metallic whilst still sporting its very period & original Orange striped ‘Deckchair’ seat trim. The car has done a little over 48,000 miles and has had just 3 former owners. We have in the office an excellent service history file containing both invoices and old MOT’s for services and maintenance carried out to the vehicle along with handbooks etc. It recently benefited from a new hood being fitted and the Alloy Wheels being refurbished which just goes to enhance the already lovely car. This very genuine example of the LE is a credit to its former owners and still has many original features such as the supplying dealer number plates. As with all the later rubber bumper cars, it is fitted with a 4 Speed gearbox with Overdrive giving it a better fuel economy.

The MGB in it’s LE form was introduced in 1980 to commemorate the last editions of the car and a total of 1,000 cars were built as either B’s or the GT Edition. Production of these cars was started at Abingdon in 1979 and were in fact the last MGs to be built at the famous factory before its closure in October 1980. Out of the 1,000 cars built 420 were produced in in Roadster form and 580 as the GT. The UK version of the LE Roadster was finished in the unique Bronze Metallic colour and was fitted with the Front Spoiler, Orange Striped Cloth Trim and, on the roadster only, a choice of distinctive Cast LE Alloy Wheels or Wire Spoked Wheel. (212 cars were fitted with alloy wheels and 208 cars had wire wheels).

Due to its age the car will be exempt from an MOT test however prior to delivery it will have been given a comprehensive vehicle inspection, service and independent MOT and come with a 3 Month Parts & Labour warranty.
