This immaculate example has only covered 51,656 miles from new and was until the original owner passed recently, a one owner from new with the family being advised to register the car in the son’s name. Originally this car was supplied by Pinney’s Mercedes of Harpenden and it has been a truly pampered example from new with it living in a heated garage, not being driven in the rain, serviced annually and rear seats that we doubt has ever been sat on.

The 124 series from Mercedes has often been regarded as some of the company’s finest work and widely conceived as being the height of Mercedes-Benz’s ‘bulletproof’ period with many examples still gracing the roads today, albeit with considerably more owners and higher miles than the car presented for sale today. The unmarked Metallic paint has a fabulous deep shine work which is complemented by factory correct Alloy wheels that are unmarked and fitted with matching branded tyres, all with excellent tread.

Inside this classic coupe will definitely not disappoint, the Mushroom Leather seats are all completely unmarked and there is electric adjustment available for both the front seats. The leather is not only unmarked but also the actual cushions are virtually as they left the factory. On both the door panels you find the seat adjustment controls along with ruffled leather panels, again unmarked. This top of the range coupe features the wood veneer covering to centre console, dash and the Blaupunkt Radio Cassette, which on closer inspection shows they are unmarked, again exceptionally rare to find in car of this age. Located in the boot is the Multi-play CD Changer connected to the head unit.

Under the bonnet of this German marque sits the very well proven 3198cc petrol engine that provides the effortless power for this coupe and is possibly one of the best engines Mercedes built. This is paired to a 4 Speed Automatic gearbox giving an exceptionally smooth delivery of the power that delivers the power as smoothly today as it did when it left the factory. The car is accompanied with a service history showing the owner used a local specialist to carry out annual services, mot tests and inspections indicating his trust in that garage to maintain the car correctly.
