JAGUAR XK

With us at RFH Classics we have this stunning 1958 Jaguar XK150 Roadster OTS finished in Imperial Maroon with contrasting Tan Leather Trim. The XK was first introduced in 1957 with this Roadster edition being introduced in 1958 and is now quite a rare car with just 2,263 being produced. The XK Roadster OTS was a strict 2 seater and featured a redesigned body that had a repositioned scuttle and curved door tops when introduced. This particular car left the factory with the SE Pack which included Wire Wheels, Front Spotlights, Overdrive, the tuned B-Type Cylinder head and Twin Exhausts however now this benefits from a very subtle overdrive upgrade with the addition of a 5 speed gearbox, which really helps the driveability of the car. There were 2 engines sizes available when new, the 3.8 litre and the 3.4 litre. This car is fitted with the 3.4 litre engine and according to contemporary road tests of the time was capable of recorded speeds of 130mph upwards.

The car left the Browns Lane assembly line in August 1958 with an original destination of the states but was repatriated during 1986 where it soon after its return was stripped and treated to a very lengthy and extensive restoration by its previous keeper. Regrettably the bills associated with this restoration were settled through the then owners business and are no longer available but a inspection of the car confirms the work undertaken was done well and has stood the test of time exceptionally well. During the restoration the car was converted to right hand drive and was fitted with the 5 speed gearbox and the addition of power steering which makes this car very comfortable to drive and use. It was during the restoration that the factory Blue was replaced with the Imperial Maroon and retrimmed in the Tan Leather seen today along with the chrome wire wheels. The last owner had the car for the past 12 years and during his ownership kept the vehicle in excellent condition. Whilst in his ownership he had the engine professionally rebuilt with invoices to support this work. The car comes with a significant history file including a Jaguar Heritage Certificate that has been built up over the years it has been back here.

Although exempt from now needing an MOT, included in our screen price we supply the car with a new MOT and 3 months major mechanical warranty and the car is eligible for zero historic road tax making it ULEZ Exempt.
