FORD ANGLIA

With us at RFH Classics we have this very rarely found 1966 (D) Ford Anglia 1200 (123e) Super finished in Ivory White with the contrasting Navy roof and matching two tone side flash. The interior of this example is finished in Black Leather which like the exterior of the car, is in fantastic condition. This 123e has only had 5 recorded owners in 57 years and displays a credible 71,311 miles. Looking around how clean the car is you can see the former owners have really loved this car and treated it very well.

In the office we have an accompanying history file with a large selection of photographs dated from 2002 showing the very extensive restoration program the car has been subject to. In addition to this there are receipts and bills for work undertaken as well as various workshop manuals and owners books.

This is a 4th generation of the Anglia that was first introduced in 1959 and brought with it the American influenced styling that included a sweeping nose line, muted tailfins and on deluxe versions, a full-width slanted chrome grille in between prominent "eye" headlamps. This 123e variant of the Anglia was introduced in 1962 and was fitted with the more powerful 1198cc version of the standard Anglia engine that was paired to a 4 speed manual gearbox that resulted in improved performance. The 105e and 123e models ran alongside each other until the 123 ceased in 1967.

The new Anglia was produced in various levels of trim, the base model was the Standard which sported no chrome work, painted rear light surrounds, steel-slatted grille and limited interior trim. The Deluxe had a chrome side strip, chrome rear lights, glovebox lid, sun visor, and full-width chrome radiator grille with the top of the range Super having the twin chrome side strips, contrasting coloured roof and side flash, plusher interior trim, together with the bigger engine and a gearbox with synchromesh standard on first gear.
