AUSTIN A40

Just arrived with us here at RFH Classics we have this stunning little 1963 Austin A40 MKII Countryman finished in Marron with contrasting Cream Roof and Tan Interior trim. This little beauty has recently come to us and is a real head turner, it had low ownership and the mileage we suspect is probably somewhere about right looking around it. The car has the benefit of being fitted with the slightly larger 1275cc engine from a MG Midget which whilst not making a speed demon, it certainly helps. Since arriving with us we have had a new clutch fitted to the car and given it a once over replacing the few bits that were required and i have to say it does drive very nicely.

This particular car is the MKII version of the A40 Countryman and so is slightly longer than the MKI model. There were two model originally, the standard A40 and the Countryman version with the differences being that the Countryman effectively was the estate version and had an opening rear hatch and fold down seats making a very useable space. It was given the Farina name due to the styling of the body on this A40 being done by Pinin Farina of Italy who's design allowed for more leg and head room that the previous model. Other changes to this as the MKII version saw the introduction of winding windows and the inclusion of fixed seat belts for the front passengers.

Under current guidelines this car is exempt from needing an MOT however prior to leaving us it will have an independent MOT and benefit from a 3 Month Warranty. This vehicle is eligible for historic road tax. We welcome customers to have an independent inspection carried out for additional peace of mind.
